It is with great honor that we invite the Pre-Law Society and the broader university community to a special presentation featuring the Sojourner House Legal Services Program (ELSI).
Since 1976, Sojourner House has supported and protected women surviving abusive relationships. The organization recently received a prestigious U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Office on Violence Against Women grant to launch a new Legal Services Program for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking—one of only eight programs nationwide recognized through the Expanding Legal Services Initiative (ELSI).
We are proud to welcome Yulyana Torres, staff attorney at Sojourner House and alumna of Roger Williams University School of Law, and Alyssa Miranda, paralegal and Brown University graduate. Torres is a lifelong advocate for social justice and survivor empowerment, while Miranda brings extensive experience in immigration services and client advocacy.
Join us for this powerful discussion on Family Law, exploring how compassion and advocacy intersect to protect survivors inside and outside the courtroom.
