Invisible Disabilities Week: FLIP Points Available for Lecture and Lunch-Tomorrow (10/23), 12pm in Moore Arts Cafe

Drop in for our lunchtime lecture, “Disability Rights in the Workplace,” by Professor Molly McKeon, TOMORROW, 10/23/2024, from 12 to 1:30pm in Moore Arts Cafe. PC School of Business students will earn FLIP points for attendance. This workshop is designed for students, faculty, and staff who are interested in learning about the process of requesting accommodations in the workplace (i.e., job, internship, clinical placements). It will cover disability law, employee rights to access, and resources to support advocacy utilizing a strengths-based framework.

**Please note that the workshop is for informational purposes and will generalize processes and resources across workplaces. This will not specifically address any Providence College processes.**

Molly McKeon, EdD Candidate, is the Director of the Center for Disability Access and ADA/504 Coordinator for Rhode Island College and owner of Access Coaching Collaborative, LLC. She also works as an adjunct instructor for Providence College, teaching courses related to disability access, equity, and inclusion in higher education and the workplace. She is credentialed as a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies through the International Association of Accessibility Professionals, and enjoys collaborating across sectors to advance disability justice.

We will be serving pizza — including pepperoni, cheese, and vegetarian — as well as brownies and assorted cookies. Please be aware that the food may contain sugar, dairy/lactose, or wheat/gluten. Each dish will be labeled with potential allergens. For drinks, we will have ice citrus water and various cans of soda.

Moore Hall is centrally located on campus, but on one of the highest points on campus. There are two wheelchair-accessible entrances at the front of the building. No stairs are necessary to enter the building or access the event space. Participants are welcome to use the accessible, gender-neutral bathroom in Moore lobby, which features a grab -bar.
