Film and Pizza-Today (11/11), 5:30pm in Guzman 250

The Catholic tradition takes the month of November especially to contemplate mortality and pray for the dead. Calvary challenges us to consider the place of forgiveness and atonement in a community torn by abomination and indifference, when a good priest is suddenly forced to confront his own mortality. Set on the beautiful island of Sligo, Calvary is marked by Irish wit and dark but searching sympathy for the human condition.

Brought to you by the Center for Catholic and Dominican Studies, the Department of Theology, and the Honors Program.

Pizza will be served. Come one, come all!

Image from official film release features older, bearded priest in flowing black cassock, pensive with hands in pockets, standing against an ocean shore, framed in cornflower blue, listing movie credits as well as event details.
