The Humanities Forum Hosts Stephen Barr-Friday (10/18), 3:30pm in Ruane 105

This Friday(10/18) at 3:30 p.m. in Ruane 105, the Humanities Forum will host Dr. Stephen Barr, president of the Society of Catholic Scientists and Professor Emeritus of theoretical particle physics at the University of Delaware. The title of his lecture is “Is Consciousness Reducible to Physics?” and in this lecture, Dr. Barr will explain why a number of well-known physicists and philosophers have argued that the phenomenon of consciousness is not reducible to physics, thus refuting physicalism.
