Honors Symposium- Saturday (4/5), 9:30am in Ruane 105

Honors Program Symposium: “Realizing a Synodal Community: The Value of Listening and Conversation in Church, State, and Society.”

The Honors Program at Providence College cordially invites guests to the Honors Symposium entitled: “Realizing a Synodal Community: The Value of Listening and Conversation in Church, State, and Society.”

The keynote speakers are Edward Hahnenberg, Ph.D., Kristin Colberg, Ph.D., and Massimo Faggioli, Ph.D.

Edward P. Hahnenberg, Ph.D., is the Breen Chair in Catholic Theology and Chair of the Department of Theology & Religious Studies at John Carroll University. His keynote address is entitled “Synodal Community in a Fractured World.”

Kristin Colberg, Ph. D., is an Associate professor of Theology at Saint John’s School of Theology and Seminary. She will present her keynote address, “The Role of the Laity in Enacting a Synodal Church.”

Massimo Faggioli, Ph.D., is a Professor of Theology and Religious Studies at Villanova University. He will offer the keynote “Vatican II and the Model of Synodality for Today’s Church.”

1:30 pm Massimo Faggioli
3:15 pm Panel discussion with all our speakers
