Join us tonight at 7:00 p.m. in Campus Ministry (Lower Level) for the William J. and Maryann M. Christie Distinguished Catholic Faith Lecture Series. This evening marks the final lecture of the 2025–2026 academic year and will feature Rev. Daniel Mallam, O.P., a Catholic priest and graduate student in theology at Providence College.
Fr. Mallam brings a deep commitment to pastoral ministry, spiritual formation, and accompanying young people in their journeys of faith. His ministry experiences in Nigeria—where Christians often face persecution—have profoundly shaped his witness to faith, hope, and resilience. These lived experiences, including surviving an attempted kidnapping, inform both his theological reflection and pastoral approach.
In his lecture, Hope in the Midst of Fear: Trusting God in Life’s Darkest Moments, Fr. Mallam will reflect on the Christian virtue of hope through personal experience and the life of faith. Drawing on his early priesthood amid suffering and uncertainty, he will explore how hope rooted in God sustains individuals and communities in moments of fear, adversity, and darkness.
