Meet the Artists: Hillerbrand+Magsamen-Thursday (10/10), 5pm in Reilly Gallery

Join Providence College Galleries on Thurs. Oct 10, from 5 PM – 7 PM in Reilly Gallery, Smith Center for the Arts, to celebrate EXPAND: HILLERBRAND+MAGSAMEN+LYNN. Meet the artist duo Stephan Hillerbrand and Mary Magsamen, who will give a tour of their new multimedia collaboration with playwright Kirk Lynn, followed by a reception. This exciting collaboration, featuring a mesmerizing large-scale video projection and an evolving tapestry of visual and written materials, explores the beauty and transformation found in everyday moments.

About EXPAND: HILLERBRAND+MAGSAMEN+LYNN
For over two decades, Hillerbrand+Magsamen have created work that animates the connections between their home life—encompassing house and family—histories, memories, and consumer culture. Their multidisciplinary practice spans photography, time-based media, sculpture, and performance. For this exhibition, they punched holes in the walls of their 1960-built house to extract and digitally scan samples of foam insulation, nails, and other materials found inside. Then, utilizing multiple AI programs, the artists processed the scans into time-based media layered with audio field recordings to produce an uncanny single-channel video. Learn more here!

See you on Thursday!
