Poet Speaker Event – Cindy King, Tues., (3/17) from 4-6pm in Ruane Great Room

Please consider joining us for an evening of poetry and conversation with Cindy King on Tuesday, March 17th from 4 to 6 pm in Ruane Great Room. Cindy King is the author of a book-length poetry collection, Zoonotic (2022), and three chapbooks, Five for Nothing (2025), Easy Street (2021) and Lesser Birds of Paradise (2022). Her latest poetry manuscript, Fever Coat, won the C&R Poetry Book Award and will be published in early 2026.

Cindy’s poems appear in The Sun, New England Review, North American Review, Prairie Schooner and elsewhere. Her work has also been featured on NPR’s The Slowdown, and she recently served as a featured Festival Poet at the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival. Cindy has been awarded fellowships and scholarships by Tin House, the Sewanee Writers’ Workshop, the Fine Arts Work Center, Colgate University, and other organizations.

She was born in Cleveland, Ohio and is currently a professor of creative writing at Utah Tech University and faculty advisor to Route 7 Review and The Southern Quill. She enjoys serving as an editorial associate at Seneca Review and TriQuarterly. She also recently joined the editorial staff of Trio House Press.
