Reading & Conversation with Creative Nonfiction Writers-Tuesday (4/8), 5pm in Fiondella Great Room

Join us next week for a double feature reading and conversation with Creative Nonfiction writers Elisa Gabbert and Lucas Mann!
Gabbert and Mann will each read from their latest collection of essays (see below), interview each other about the writing life, and answer audience questions. Light refreshments will follow.

Elisa Gabbert is the author of seven collections of poetry, essays, and criticism. Her most recent nonfiction books are Any Person Is the Only Self and The Unreality of Memory & Other Essays, both from FSG. Her other books include Normal Distance, The Word Pretty, and The Self Unstable. She writes the On Poetry column for the New York Times, and her work has appeared widely in publications including Harper’s, The Atlantic, The Paris Review, The New York Review of Books, The Believer, The Yale Review, and elsewhere. She lives in Providence.

Lucas Mann is the author of Attachments: Essays on Fatherhood and Other Performances, Captive Audience: On Love and Reality Television, Lord Fear: A Memoir, and Class A: Baseball in the Middle of Everywhere. Attachments was praised in The New Yorker and LA Review of Books and was listed as a best book of 2024 by NPR and Lit Hub, among other publications. He teaches creative writing at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, and lives in Providence, RI with his family, where they own Riffraff Bookstore & Bar.
