SAVE THE DATE: Info Session for English Honor Society

English majors and students taking courses in English:
This year’s informational meeting for Sigma Tau Delta, the English Honor Society, will be held at 7:00PM on Monday, November 10 in Ruane LL43.

The English Honor Society provides you with an opportunity to demonstrate, through membership, your excellence in English. As a member, you will be able to convene meetings, arrange conferences, plan and participate in functions that promote the study of English at Providence College and in the community, submit work for publication in Sigma Tau Delta’s journals, be eligible for scholarships, and be part of a respected national Honor Society.
In order to become a member, you must meet the following criteria:

1) By the end of the fall semester, you must have taken at least three English courses and a minimum of two beyond ENG 175 (“Introduction to Literature”)
2) You must have a minimum of a “B” average both in English and overall
3) You must be in the top 35% of your class
4) You must have completed three semesters of college work (Sophomores who apply now will have done so by the Spring semester when new members are inducted) I hope to see you at the meeting. If you plan to come, it would help me out if you could tell me in an e-mail shargel@providence.edu. Please put “Attn: English Honor Society” in the subject line. I’d like to get a sense of the number of people who are interested.
