Sojourner House Legal Services Presentation at 6:00pm in Guzman 250

It is with great honor that we invite the Pre-Law Society and the broader university community to a special presentation featuring the Sojourner House Legal Services Program (ELSI).

Since 1976, Sojourner House has been dedicated to supporting and protecting women who have survived abusive relationships. Recently, the organization received a prestigious grant from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) to launch a new Legal Services Program for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Sojourner House is one of only eight organizations nationwide to receive this recognition through the Expanding Legal Services Initiative (ELSI).

We are proud to welcome Yulyana Torres, staff attorney at Sojourner House and alumna of Roger Williams University School of Law, along with Alyssa Miranda, paralegal and Brown University graduate.

Yulyana Torres has been a practicing attorney for two years and is a lifelong advocate for social justice, committed to amplifying the voices of those who are vulnerable.

Alyssa Miranda brings three years of experience working closely with immigration services and supporting clients as they navigate complex legal systems.

Please join us for this powerful discussion offering a unique perspective on Family Law, where compassion and advocacy intersect to protect survivors both inside and outside the courtroom.
