Transitioning from Fossil Fuels: Political and Social Dimensions-Thursday (2/6), 1pm

On Thursday (2/6) at 1pm in Center for Catholic and Dominican Studies – What are the political and social opportunities for countries to eliminate fossil fuel use? This talk will feature Dr. Julia A. Flagg, Associate Professor of Sociology and Environmental Studies at Connecticut College, discussing such opportunities and challenges to transitioning from fossil fuels. Dr. Flagg has recently published a book about the efforts to achieve net zero in Costa Rica and will share insights on that work and its relevance for other efforts to transition from fossil fuels. The discussion will feature Dr. Charlotte Roberts, Assistant Professor of Sociology at Providence College, who will bring clarifying insights to the discussion.
