{"id":14699,"date":"2026-04-13T09:51:56","date_gmt":"2026-04-13T13:51:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/friarwire.providence.edu\/morning-mail\/?p=14699"},"modified":"2026-04-13T09:51:56","modified_gmt":"2026-04-13T13:51:56","slug":"black-studies-forum-tomorrow-at-630pm-in-moore-hall-125","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/friarwire.providence.edu\/morning-mail\/black-studies-forum-tomorrow-at-630pm-in-moore-hall-125\/","title":{"rendered":"Black Studies Forum Tomorrow at 6:30pm in Moore Hall 125"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Over the past year, the increase in hate speech on campus has impacted Black students\u2019 social, mental, and physical well-being in notable ways.\u00a0 This environment is not conducive to Providence College\u2019s belief in a Beloved Community, and we insist that members of the college stop living in what some students have described as a \u201cbubble\u201d of ignorance.\u00a0 We all have a responsibility to embrace discomfort when people in our Beloved Community are demanding to be heard.<br><br>In response to these tensions on campus, the Black Studies Department is hosting a forum at 6:30pm on Tuesday, April 14th in Moore Hall 125 to highlight the voices that have gone unheard.\u00a0 We invite you to bring your presence into this space and encourage you to invite your friends.
