Sakai Sunsets in June: Migrate Your Project Sites

Many of you have been wondering about the migration of Project Sites within Sakai to another platform, as Sakai will be retired at the end of June. An email about Sakai Project Sites was sent to the community on March 3. If you missed that email, here are some quick tidbits from it.

  • All owners of Sakai Project Sites are responsible for saving and exporting their own content prior to June 30.
  • Student groups and organizations, along with student group advisors, should use the PC Central App. Instructions and information about the PC Central App are available at the Student Activities and Cultural Programming MyPC Portal site.
  • Microsoft Teams and Canvas are potential replacements for your Project Site depending on the tools you use. Use the Project Site Tool Comparison to help with your decision.

If you have any questions or would like assistance migrating your Project Site, please contact Teaching & Learning Technology at tlt@providence.edu or CanvasHelp@providence.edu.
