On Monday, January 8, all G: drives will be completely eliminated and inaccessible. You must copy any documents you wish to keep to your OneDrive before January 8. If you are a Mac user, your “G: drive” is the network drive that is listed as “username$” on your computer.
All G: drives have been made read-only. You are still able to view documents stored on your G: drive and copy these documents to your OneDrive. You will not be able to edit documents and save those edits back to your G: drive. You will also not be able to save new documents to your G: drive.
OneDrive offers the following benefits:
- Easier access to files across devices and networks, including while working remotely.
- Increased security controls.
- Automatic versioning and backup of files.
- File sharing.
The IT training team has been holding additional sessions on using OneDrive, including syncing your OneDrive to your computer and best practices for migrating your files from you G: drive into your OneDrive.
